RESTORING ALTA'S Friday—Sunday & HOLIDAY SKIING EXPERIENCE.

Returning for another winter, parking reservations will be required to ski Alta this season each Friday–Sunday & Holidays.  Our winter parking reservation system has greatly improved the skiing experience—providing skiers the reassurance that they would have a place to park without having to arrive hours before first chair. We plan to build off of this momentum for the 2023–24 season.

In an effort to provide our skiers greater flexibility when planning a day of skiing, cancellations can now be made up to 8am the day of your parking reservation day.

HOW TO MAKE A PARKING RESERVATION Step By Step.

This step by step tutorial will walk you through the parking reservation process. Qualifying Alta and Alta-Bird season passholders and lift ticket purchasers will receive a parking code via email. All other skiers, including Ikon and Mountain Collective passholders, can purchase a $25 parking reservation without a parking code.

Friday–Sunday & HOLIDAY paid PARKING RESERVATIONS. WHY?

  • Provides Alta skiers the assurance that there will be a parking space before driving up Little Cottonwood Canyon.

  • Eases early morning traffic congestion resulting from limited parking available on a first-come, first-serve basis.

    • Alta skiers will no longer need to arrive hours before first chair to secure a parking spot on Friday–Sunday & holidays.

    • Ski area employees will be able to arrive on time and prepare the ski area and parking areas for you.

  • Manage the ski experience by limiting the number of skiers to available terrain and lift capacity.

WHEN ARE RESERVATIONS REQUIRED?

  • Friday–Sunday & holidays from 8am–1pm. Parking is not permitted in Alta lots from midnight to 8 am.

    • Reservations begin Friday, December 15th, 2023.

    • Reservations end Sunday, March 31st, 2024.

    • Reservations are required from 8am–1pm on Closing Day, April 21st. 

    • Holidays: December 22nd, 2023 - January 1st, January 15th & February 19th, 2024.

    • All parking in the Wildcat, Flagstaff (South Side), Grizzly and Albion lots will require a reservation on Friday–Sunday & holidays. 

  • Looking for early morning parking in the Town of Alta before 8am? 6am early morning parking reservations are available daily.

  • Parking reservations can be made online at anytime during the ski season.

WHEN ARE RESERVATiONS NOT REQUIRED?

  • First-Come, First-Serve Parking

    • Monday through Thursday (excluding holiday periods).

    • Opening day (November 17th – conditions permitting) through December 14th, 2023.

    • Any day after 1 pm.

    • Parking will remain first-come, first-serve on 90+ days during the 2023-24 season.

RESERVATIONS CAN ONLY BE PURCHASED ONLINE:

  • Reservations are available for $25 per day.

  • Purchasers of Adult area day tickets on Alta.com are eligible to book parking reservations for $10 per day.

  • Qualifying Alta and Alta-Bird passholders are eligible for FREE parking reservations.

  • Parking reservations are verified by your license plate.

  • FREE parking reservations for qualifying Alta passholders:

    • Qualifying Alta passholders will receive parking code(s) that can be used to book free parking reservations. Parking codes may be reused once the active reservation date has passed.

WHAT PARKING BENEFITS DO I RECEIVE AS AN ALTA OR ALTA-BIRD PASSHOLDER?

  • Qualifying Alta and Alta-Bird passholders will receive parking codes that can be used to book free parking reservations. Parking codes may be reused once the active reservation date has passed.

  • Qualifying Alta passes: Family Package, Adult, 65+, 80+, 18-25, Military, Mid-Week, Gold Card, Powder Card & 10-Day Card.

  • Qualifying Alta-Bird passes: Family Package, Adult, 65+, 18-25 & Military.

WHAT PARKING BENEFITS DO I RECEIVE AS AN ALTA LIFT TICKET PURCHASER?

  • As an Alta Lift Ticket purchaser you will receive a parking code for a $15 discount off your parking reservation when you purchase your Alta Lift Ticket online.

  • Please note, discounted passes do not qualify for discounts on parking reservations.

RULES AND REGULATIONS

  • Failure to cancel free Alta season passholder reservations may result in pausing future passholder reservation benefits. Please note that if you are ill or have an emergency, email altaparking@interstateparking.com so that you do not need to drive up the canyon. We understand that life happens and we are more than willing to work with you in most unplanned situations.

  • The fine for parking without a reservation will be $75.

STEP 1. Visit Alta Parking and click 'Redeem parking code.'

STEP 4. Select the parking code you would like to use:

A - For Alta or Alta-Bird Passholders: Season Pass

STEP 5. Select your date and choose your parking option.

A - For Alta or Alta-Bird Passholders: Season Pass Reservation

STEP 6. You will be redirected to the Checkout page.

A - For Alta or Alta-Bird Passholders: Click 'Park For Free'.

STEP 7. To complete your reservation  follow these steps:

A - For Alta or Alta-Bird Passholders: Double check your license plate and click 'Confirm'. Your reservation is complete. Happy Skiing!

B - For Alta Lift Ticket Purchasers: Click here to follow steps 6 - 10 under 'Without a Parking Code' to complete your purchase. Your reservation is complete. Happy Skiing!

STEP 2. On calendar view, select the day you plan to ski. Remember, reservations are only required on Friday–Sunday & holidays from 8am–1pm.

STEP 4. Select Login if you have an account or Create Account.

STEP 6. Click 'Add Credit Card' to add payment. Click 'Credit or Debit' to select a card previously saved to your account.

STEP 8. You will then be redirected to the payment page:

STEP 9. Click 'Select Payment Method' to choose your card and click the 'Pay and Park' button.
